His line of vitality or the Scorpio Sun opposing its Taurean moon suggests a constant need for Judge Anderson to affirm his views by  specializing in one facet of the cosmic order after another. He had a preponderance in Libra, often the sign of the law and military. His ascendant is Cancer 08, or the symbol of “Versatility,” which Judge Anderson and his varied career aptly demonstrates.

Like Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyle, the Fixed Star Sabik afflicts his chart. This time across from Uranus but also in the seventh house. Here Robson writes  a ” sincere, sober, retiring, melancholy, thoughtful, calm and patient in trouble, clergyman or associated with the Church, some physical disability, rarely marries.” Well that last bit is untrue as he is buried next to his wife, Agnes Catherine, in Dean Cemetery in western Edinburgh. The rest does seem to dominate in his character.

His least aspected planet is Mercury (business). His most aspected planet is Jupiter (wealth) for though his father was provost of Edinburgh, salaries then were far less than in today’s public sector market as it assumed you did the job for service and duty, not riches.
