J572, Prince Leopold of England son Victoria & hemophiliac

    - By e~collage

Prince Leopold was the eighth child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and the youngest of their sons.  He was born April 7, 1853, and delivered with the aid of chloroform, administered by the Royal accoucheur, Dr. John Snow.  He was the first of the Queen’s children to be born with her under it;  Beatrice who followed four years later and was the last of the line, also received it as the Queen was trying to popularize the drug. The safe arrival of Prince Leopold didn’t silence opposition to obstetric anesthesia altogether, but the Queen’s heartily expressed enthusiasm for pain-free…

J413 The fifth Gustavus, King of Sweden

    - By e~collage

Gustavus V of Sweden has two outstanding birth times.  The popular one is from Marc Jones (noted as #461 in his Jones 1000) and has a 10 am birth time; Alan Leo has 10:30 am.  The difference is that the 10 am gives him a Regulus Ascendant, while the 10:30 am gives him a more prosaic Virgo 4 ascendant.  There is not much difference in the horoscope’s bearing itself–both have a preponderance of planets in the intercepted Gemini Tenth house.  Interceptions are supposed to shown hidden undercurrents in the horoscope.  Another change is the position of his moon from the…

J313 The birth & death of King Edward VII of England

    - By e~collage

King Albert Edward, the father of the ill-fated Prince Albert Victor, and son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, followed his mother to the throne of England under the laws of primogeniture. England is the only country in europe to have that law, and it was recently overturned for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge first born,, just in case it was a girl; it was not and George stands as of now to inherit the throne after his great granmother, Elizabeth II, her son, the prince of Wales, Charles and then his father, William. Edward did not have so…

C392 Queen Anne Stuart of Great Britian and her chairs

    - By e~collage

Biograph Anne was born in the reign of her uncle Charles II, who had no legitimate children. Her father, James, was then the first in line to the throne, but because of his Roman Catholic ties, he was very unpopular with the House of Lords. Charles II recommended that Anne be raised as an Anglican to help James’s cause. It did not help James for three years after he succeeded Charles, he was deposed in the “Glorious Revolution” of 1688.  His daughter Mary II and her Dutch husband were the reigning monarchs.  They had no children, so after Mary’s death…

J77 Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands

    - By e~collage

Her Royal Highness Queen Beatrix was daughter of Queen Juliana and a the German Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld. She was born on on January 31, 1938 at the Royal Soestdijk Paleis, in the Utrecht municipality; Marc Jones incorrectly states she was born in Amsterdam in Sabian Symbols. In a patriotic spirit, Breck’s Bulbs, the Netherland bulb company has a lovely daffodil named in the palace’s honor, the Soestdijk Bulb, that is sixteen inches high and four inches across. Definitely a regal addition to the garden.

C184 Forever Diana, Princess of Wales

    - By e~collage

The header shot is of Princess Diana and her two sons, William and Henry.  Below are her wedding shoes and her and Prince Charles on her wedding day, July 29, 1981.  She was twenty years old. She was born on July 1st, 1961 at 7:45 GMT at Sandringham Castle.  Her Ascendant at 18 Sagittarius is  a common fire sign ruled by Jupiter, making her a frank, friendly woman who wins friends easily and rather androgynous in appearance. The description of “hail fellow well met” describes the archetypal Sagittarian.                        …

J37 Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanoff of Russia

    - By e~collage

Grand Duchess Anastasia was the fourth and last daughter born to Tsar Nikolai and Tsarina Aleksandra on June 17, 1901 at Peterhof Palace, St. Petersburg, Russia. Red Communists butchered her and her family — later called Soviets and now Russians again — on July 17, 1918 at the Native House, Yekaterinburg, Russia. A full biography is available here. We do not change Julian dates to Gregorian otherwise it is the same as Marc Edmund Jones’s, who puts her ascendant at 03 Aquarius 22, a Hindu healer or the self-assertion of bringing forward human potential. She is hourglass planetary pattern. It is interesting…

Impact of Queen Marie Antoinette’s Murder on France

    - By June Bug

On October 16 1793, Queen Marie-Antoinette-Josèphe-Jeanne d’Autriche-Lorraine (Austria-Lorraine) of France was guillotined in Paris, France. Her husband, King Louis XVI, has fallen nine months earlier. Looking at the chart, which we picked for 9 am for the act. This gives the chart below marked heavily by a fixed grand cross, culminating at her death with an ascendant of 20 Scorpio 55.It is striking as her natal Sun is 10 Scorpio 35, while the event’s Sun is 23 Libra 27, the Queen natal moon is 20 Libra 40. Her natal ascendant was rectified by French astrologer, the late Andre Barbault to…

J195 Rectifying Prince Charles of Wales, Duke of Cornwall & Duke of Rothesay

    - By e~collage

On November 14, 1948, the Prince of Wales was born in Buckingham, sometime in the evening. Princess Elizabeth was just 22 & in labour for 30 hours during which time his father gallantly played squash with his private secretary in Buckingham’s indoor courts, until the baby’s head was crowned and then rushed to the spot. That was probably a good use of nervous energy as back then men were not allowed in the natarium. When the princess woke up from her anaesthetic, gave Philip her a bouquet of red roses and carnations. He also declared that Charles resembled “a plum pudding.”…
