Kerry Kennedy Cuomo was the seventh child of the late New York Senator Robert F. Kennedy and his wife Ethel. She is also the sister of the Robert F. Kennedy, jr, the 26th United States Secretary of health and human services, whom she totally lambasted during his confirmation hearing. Mary Kerry Kennedy married Andrew Cuomo, the current governor of New York and the the eldest of five children of New York Governor Mario and Matilda Cuomo in 1990 and it was hailed as the new Jack and Jackie power romance.
But the from the start something was amiss.
The Big Sad Wedding at the Cathedral
Kennedy and Cuomo were married at St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Washington, D.C., on June 9, 1990. The choice of church was poignant because it was also the setting, 27 years earlier, for President Uncle John F. Kennedy’s funeral mass. And while her Uncle Senator Ted Kennedy, the last living Kennedy brother, was still alive and she had plenty enough brothers to chose from, as well as a willing mother dressed in lovely pink chiffon, Kerry instead walked down the aisle alone. It seemed more like a sad prelude to the last dance than happy nupitals.
But looking at her progressed chart for the wedding, with its deviated bowl, I would say her heart was not in it. The was a public relations ceremony where she was dressed up for commencement day where she was valedictorian and was expecting a good job. (See the chart below).
Unsurprisingly, the marriage, did not last and by 2003 and three girls (two Mariah and Cara are twins) ater it was over. Kerry said flatly she was no longer interested, and Andrew, based on accounts, was relieved but stunned — they were Catholic after all.
While they still live near each other, ostensibly for the girls sake, they rarely speak to each other; and outside of tell-all books like the 2015 The Contender by Cuomo not much is known.
The Charts talk
Their charts do give us some leads and show that despite her many planets in the Ninth house of religion, it just was not enough; The Church and love of Democratic politics just did not light the bedroom fires. Unfortunately both wanted someone like them but neither liked the one they got.
For Kerry the problem was she wanted somene practical and hard working, but not too hard-working,so he could spend a lot of time with her and clan. She was looking for just a regular rich guy with a soft job. A good-looking preppy with an extroverted personality that donned her like bling.
Problem is, Andrew Cuomo’s chart was looking for the same person: someone with a posh well-connected family, good looking, well-dressed and outgoing to all to the big charity events but with no ambition to threaten him. Looking further into Kerry’s chart, she was not that gal and neither was he and thus they both struck out.

Kerry Kennedy has no oppositions in her chart and barely gets out of her bundle to make a bowl. Everything in her chart is centered in the Ninth House of religion and travel, and that makes sense for when she was young she was an excellent horsewoman and travelled to meets, an appropriate pursuit for a Sagitarrian rising. But then the horse threw her, and that ended that. Andrew should have taken warning for how harsh she could be.
Her stellium in her sun sign, the earthy Virgo, makes her very demanding and self-centered. Quarreling with (Twelfth house to Ninth House square) Kerry gets you no where fast — she can argue forever, like a politician or a lawyer, and never change her mind — she is implacable.
The Tenth house has Mars at Libra 01, making her desire an ambitious and aggressive male, much like her father, uncles and brother, but it also making for a lot of friction in the household, as it is square her Saturn in its native Capricorn in the first house as she tends to be a name-dropper and over bearing in her familial connections.
Her chart also shows that she does not understand that one just “turns up” that it is years of hard work that she sees was the recipe for Uncle Jack and her father successful, not just great hair and the square cut of his jib and the Kennedy name.
Kerry’s Moon in Scorpio particularly in the twelfth house makes her solitary and like her mother in law, Matilda, overdrink and brood. That similarity maybe all the two women had in common, as the son cum husband, was said to bemoan the comparisons between Kerry and Mom, always in Mommy’s favour.
Kerry’s Neptune in the Eleventh did not help with those criticisms — as they probably made her privately fume and become more and more resentful. She did not like the comparisons and wanted to be considered her own rara avis, but Kerry’s chart shows she does not deal with the public and even with her family her feelings are closeted. This probably fed into her depressive cycles and how shocked she was when Andrew handed divorce papers.
Saturn trine Venus in Virgo agrees with the Governor’s comments that she is “dowdy dresser” and a bit of prude, but then again being a female in the Kennedy household would make most women shy and hesitant. Her cousin Caroline is no better a dresser than she, and Caroline has Jackie O, as a model; all Kerry had was Ethel. She has none of Marc Jones’ lines in her chart either, which do not help in making her more in tune with her environment and the people within it.
Saturn Return
So now we come to her Saturn return chart. Here we see that if her ex-husband makes a run for the presidency in 2020, he has nothing to concern himself with Kerry bad mouthing him or leaking untoward secrets to the press for she is more interested in her own reputation than his.
Her brother Bobby on the other hand is a different story because for a woman who comes from such a large clan as the Kennedy, she has nothing put her Part of Fortune in the third house of brother and sister relationships but everything in the political house of the ninth so Bobby’s and her running afoul was no surprise. Andy though has proven to be his own worst enemy, first with sending Covid victims to nursing homes where the residents died in untold numbers, and now in a sexual abuse stories. This latter story releases some Kerry Cuomo stories that support his lecherous action have been Andy’s modus operandi for a while.
