Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama was a very well loved first lady, typical of Splay Temperament types. She was so loved many of her fans who heard her speak at the 2016 Democratic Convention urged her to run in 2020. She has said she will not, that eight years in the White House was enough. Politics though is fickle and as the Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra would say, everything is possible until “the fat lady sings”. 1 Or it “ain’t over till it’s over.”

Through her mother, Michelle is a direct descendant of a male slave owned by a plantation in Alabama. Nothing is mentioned from her father’s side, so we must imagine that they were free folks.
“At a racially mixed school, Michelle associated with classmates who came from all over the city, and she did well both academically and socially. She made the National Honor Society in her junior year and was elected treasurer of her senior class.”
After graduation in 1981, Michelle followed her brother to Princeton, and like him, majoring in sociology….Even the “little sister” of a basketball star felt like an outsider, and Michelle saw herself as a “visitor on campus, as if I really don’t belong.”¹
Overcoming that feeling, she graduated from Princeton and went onto Harvard to study law. She met her future husband as his Senior Legal Advisor at Harvard University.
Later on, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright married them on October 3, 1992 in his Trinity United Church of Christ church, (TUCC) a social justice church, in Chicago; her parents raised her Methodist.
The Obama’s joining TUCC makes sense, for it promotes universal health care, feeding the hungry, but also working to insure people are paid a living wage so they can care for themselves and their families; all hallmarks of her husband’s presidency.
After her husband’s election, Michelle Obama made more headlines because she was a Harvard-educated lawyer and former hospital executive, accustomed to bringing home a paycheck that exceeded her husband’s Senate salary at about $170, 000 per year; now she was a stay-at-home “mom in chief.”
Unlike the only other attorney to become First Lady Hillary Clinton, Obama felt no need to feign culinary interests by talking about cookie baking, and instead used her first public event at the White House to celebrate a recent law extending workers’ rights.
This willingness to highlight one’s professional expertise made the 2008 election an important turning point for women and African-Americans as a whole. ²

She was born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. There is no birth time for our former First Lady, but we have rectified her time for 2:24 AM. We sent this out to several people because of who she is for review, and their response was overwhelming positive — they “love it” We do too.
Mrs. Obama is a bucket with a Jupiter handle in the fifth house. THis shows she loves animals, her daughters and her job as a hospital administrator was something she adored because she was doing what she believes in: helping the less fortunate.
Her Pluto conjunct her Uranus at the midheaven makes her a very modern First Lady and why unlike Hillary Clinton she felt no need to talk “baking cookies”. That’s not Michelle, and her Scorpio ascendant, with its rulers in the second house, found in Aquarius, tells us she was not going to pretend to be someone she was not.
Uranus is an abrupt planet, and at her midheaven suggests while she was thrust into the limelight, not by her choice and desires, but conjunct Pluto that wild planet of the modern era, by an unusual circumstance that she did not entirely see but sextile Neptune did hope and wish for: her husband being the first Afro-American president.
So, Barack becoming president was not entirely a surprise, she definitely knew of her husband’s dreams, (Uranus sextile Neptune conjunct her Ascendant in the twelfth) she thought it far-fetched. Her comment “this is the first time I am proud of my country,” supports that.
Michelle has a preponderance of planets in the second and third houses of her chart. The second suggesting all the familial resources she had — her mother strong support of her education — and the third that very education and study.
While she was a quiet first lady it tells us she is talks all the time to her siblings and is close to them. It shows she has had to make lots of short journeys (probably for campaigning) and has a zest for learning. All her scholastic studying did not bother her.
She has a lot of conjunctions making her a good people person, but with no oppositions. This latter lack makes her blind to the big picture. Her husband President Obama OTOH is just the opposite with lots of opposition and few conjunctions. This perhaps highlights to some friction in their marriage.
Listening to her speech, her part of fortune, 20 Libra 54 in the eleventh house is “Wolves at the door. This theme shows up as she worries about the effect her husband’s presidency had on her two daughters, “Oh What have we done?” as well as why she would support his presidency, to stop them, but not pursue her own.
Her ascendant of 19 Scorpio 57 suggests she “content” with her life now, particularly as it is semi-sextile her Part of Fortune. She has fulfilled her dreams, and for her the fat lady has sung for Mrs. Obama means what she says.
