Shakira and her unique blend of music and dance

Shakira is a talented lady, no doubt.  Her voice warbles like a bird; she can dance up a storm, and she writes poetry in her native Spanish as a hobby.  That said, I do not think her talents extend to having two birthdays that span years.

The controversy

Shakira is an example of why I shy away more and more from living celebrities; though politicians equal them by obscuring their birth data, images, and personal information too. Bill Barr the previous AG is a perfect example, but so are presidents and first ladies ¹ This seems to be a modern phenomenon, or at least since the Clintons hit the Oval Office .

Still, Shakira, the Colombian pop singer, caught my eye because I was stunned she was, according to a UK magazine, Hot English, fifty-one years old. I know time passes, and we lose track of things, but fifty one?

I checked with Wikipedia, who plainly states her birthday as February 2, 1977, in Bogotá to a Catalan Spanish mother and a Lebanese father, both of whom immigrated to Colombia several years earlier. They never married. Back to Hot English and how Shakira ages five years.

That of course caught my curiosity, and I wondered, which is right? You cannot really look at the videos and know which is right — everything is covered with air brushed makeup and then given a warm fuzzy glow with camera filters, so she looks dewy young; so that does not help.

Checking the Charts

The 1972 look

Using the same ascendant, just different years, the 1972 chart is interesting but vague particularly with Saturn, emblematic of her belly dancing, a major part of her stage performance and music videos, highlights her Middle Eastern heritage, in the second house as a resource. That just doesn’t ring true based on the lone book¹, which I got, says she learned that technique as a teenager to make her musical act unique.

Also in the ’72 chart, her elemental makeup, is biased towards air and intellectualizing, but does that ring true for a woman who uses her physicality as her personal expression. OTOH, she writes her own lyrics, as we hear in her song latest song Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions 53 ² on the breakup.

1977 look

Things change a bit with the 1977 chart. Now in the tenth is Mercury conjunct Mars, showing her business savvy and good belly dancing to differentiate her. Saturn is now opposite her Sun but so is Uranus opposite her Jupiter, giving her a fixed grand square in fixed houses, making her stubborn and unyielding in her wishes no matter the cost. And that of course plays right into her breakup, which many attribute to her reluctance to help her partner and father of her children, Gerard Piqué, in his tax problems with the Spanish government.

It seems the footballer is in hock for three million dollars. That maybe a lot of money, but Pique makes 10.9 million euros a year, a fifth of what the Argentine Lionel Messi makes, but still it is not a pittance, so he could pay it off. Shakira, who is worth thirty million dollars, could definitely pay it off, but it seems neither will. Hence, according to UK News, the breakup.

Other sources say he wanted her to retire and raise the children, but she said only if he did, and he of course thirteen younger was not ready for that. Finally, the third reason touted is Cara Mia, with whom Gerard was infatuated. Which is true? Why pick, one as one is as good as the other in the end..

Not all things mix

While Shakira has made a fortune mixing traditional Middle Eastern belly dancing with song, her ascendance of 06 Aries 03 suggests that the “oak and cypress maybe in sight of one another” but it does not mean they will get along nor mix “freely,” because botanically they travel in different circles. The keyword from the Hyperion symbols is “rapport” or harmonic communication, and since she has her fire in Venus in the twelfth house of self-undoing, she needs to tame her bad temper if she wants to have any kind of serious romantic relationship; dissing the father’s of one’s children is only going to alienate him and possibly them too.

Fire in the Belly

That said, she a grand trine in fire, which, accompanied by her part of fortune, 17 Virgo 10, is in the sixth house of hard work and service, gives her compassionate. Here, the part is trined to her Jupiter in the second and her midheaven, both in earth signs, showing her generosity (physical gifts).

Her most notable gifts are to those less fortunate in her native Bogotá via her Barefoot Charity, which helps to provide Colombian children with a quality education. But also, after the August 15th 2007,category four Hurricane Dean, Shakira donated  $45 million US dollars to help rebuild Peruvian and Nicaraguan homes affected. If only more tycoons followed her suit.

Shakira is a planetary Splash pattern with only one conjunction, and that at the midheaven, and a fixed grand square to support the formation. Her part of fortune suggests her capitalization on her “craft” should hold up and continue to benefit her and her fans for many years to come.
