Caracas, Venezuela — Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido called for a military uprising in what he dubbed the “final phase” of his bid to oust President Nicolas Maduro. Called “Operation Freedom,” Guaido claimed Maduro had been re-elected in a “fraudulent re-election.”

Shortly afterwards, 22,000 Cuban soldiers came in to support Maduro, forcing Guaido to flee the country. He landed in Colombia, but the authorities there refused him entry. Now like most South American expats, Guaido is in Miami, but Venezuela is requesting the Biden government extradite him.

As of December 2025, Guaido is still in Miami and still calling for the ouster of Maduro; few are listening, so is there a future for Guaido? That is doubtful for his competitor Maria Corina Machado lives in Venezuela, is endorsed by the United States and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2025. She has come out explicitly denouncing his interim government as having “done nothing” and instituted no major reforms.

Guaido’s early years

Juan Gerardo Guaidó Marquez was born on July 28, 1983, in La Guaira, Venezuela, a small port city in the densely populated urban strip of the Caribbean coast, some 20 miles (30 km) northwest of Caracas. He grew up in a prosperous middle-class family despite his parents’ divorce, where shortly thereafter his father emigrated to the Canary Islands, a Spanish autonomous region in the Atlantic, about 3500 miles away. His mother was a schoolteacher.

I have rectified his ascendant to 05 Scorpio 08 with the keyword of “Ambition” with the symbol of “a gold rush” or in Venezuela’s case an “oil spout.” Because he challenges the world to improve his condition without doing much to advance it himself. His ambition is definitely supported by Jupiter, the planet of riches and good fortune on the cusp of his second, the natural home of resources next to the independent and willful Uranus. This explains why he he rose to such heights; Guaido is naturally charismatic but this duo also imparts a less favorable meaning: argumentativeness. Fidel Castro, the great Cuban leader, had it too, as did his Russian counterpart, Stalin.

And so while Maduro cries there is a problem killing Venezuela unlike Machado he never says its name is the “narco-dictator” Maduro. Perhaps that is because not everyone agrees with him. Rapper Jay Z, Vladimir Putin , and Castro’s successor Canel of Cuba all support Maduro and feel that it is he, Guaido that is the opportunist.

The United States Foreign Sec. Marco Rubio sees Venezuela is on the wrong course, but because of the money and military backing of external foreign entities, the United States can do little without causing military action itself,1 and there is no popular support for that. U.S. President Trump says, “Venezuela’s Maduro’s days are numbered” but then so are everyone’s.2

In the meantime, back to Guaido.

His ascendant, the rising symbol associated with his time and location of birth, has no major relationship or aspect to its ruler, Mars in the ninth house. Mars is actually very weakened there, for Cancer does not like the trouble Mars likes to cause. While the symbol for Mars is positive “a choir singing” it also suggests his own loyalties are the source of his problems. The Arabian Part of Honor and Nobility next to this weakened Mars probably sums up his troubles nicely, he needs to get some.

A President without a Party

How could that be?

In 2007, Venezuelan Pres. Hugo Chavez accused the popular private network Radio Caracas Televisión (RCTV) of violating broadcast laws; he refused to renew its license. Then he replaced RCTV with a state-run broadcaster. Guaidó became the organizer of the student protest movement that sprang up in response to this censorship of the press. This established the Popular Will (Voluntad Popular) party with a motto to “build a more secure, united and prosperous country where everyone will be entitled to all rights.”

The problem was Guaido never had a template of how to dislodge Maduro, and so his support at home and overseas waned. In a move that shocked everyone, Guaido’s own colleagues in the opposition ousted him in 2022. This led to a reversal of both the Biden administration and Venezuelan-based Citgo oil in their backing. This effectively removed Guaido as oppositional president and made him a man without a country.

On the Road…again

In April, Guaido left Venezuela for Colombia. Then, saying the Colombian government had expelled him, he came to the States. (Second house interception; change in residence happens quickly, but as Jupiter rules Sagittarius, he lands on his feet.) This could change with future transits/progressions), and as of April 2025, Venezuela is on the edge of bankruptcy, but with Senora Machado in Caracas, it is doubtful that Guaido has a future in Venezuela. Now that a Democrat has retaken the mayoralty in Miami, he could always campaign for that post.

Thanks for reading this post. If you read this far, please give it a like. I appreciate it.
